Finding YourSelf

Have you ever wished to experience more calmness, clarity, creativity, and courage, even when life around you is swirling?

Do you feel stuck between what you feel confident is your next step and what seems to hold you back?

When you’re experiencing the space where you feel most like you - comfortable in your own skin - do you wish you could live life more often from that experience of yourSelf?

If these questions stir up curiosity or a deep longing, you are not alone - the Finding YourSelf workshops at Pettaway Commons were created for you.  This summer, there will be six Thursday evening workshops that introduce and explore the life-skill framework called Internal Family Systems (IFS).

IFS is an evidence-based, therapeutic model that invites us to explore the various internal parts of our systems.  Those parts that are sometimes critical, distracted, numbing, or resistant (to name a few).  In our exploration together each week, we will learn the basics of IFS, how it can help us uncover our true Self, and live more fully from the inside out.

This workshop is open to adults. Please be aware that access to this second floor, workshop location requires climbing a set of stairs. We apologize to anyone who is unable to attend due to inaccessibility. Please contact Tracy DePue at tracy@tracydepue.com if you would like to discuss hosting this workshop at another location.

Finding YourSelf workshops will be led by Level 1 IFS Practitioner and Spiritual Director, Tracy DePue.  Pre-registration is required.  Thank you!

Book Study: "No Bad Parts"

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Book Study: “No Bad Parts” by Richard C. Schwartz, PHD

Dates: Thursdays: Sept. 29, Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27, Nov. 3, 10, 17

Time: 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. (CST)

Location: Online via Zoom

Cost: $75

Course Description:

Is there some part of yourself that you wish would go away?

Most of us would say yes, whether we call it addiction, the inner critic, “monkey mind,” neurosis, sinfulness, bad habits, or some other disparaging name.  Yet what if there was a different way to approach these aspects of yourself that leads to true healing instead of constant inner struggle?  With No Bad Parts, Dr. Richard Schwartz teaches a revolutionary paradigm of understanding and relating with ourselves — a method that brings us into inner harmony, enhances self-compassion, and opens the doors to spiritual awakening.

Whether you are familiar with or new to Internal Family Systems, this 8-week study will help you explore the gifts held within this model of discovering your multifaceted mind.  You will learn about how your own internal family system works; begin identifying the various parts that have an active role in your daily life; learn more about the pain those parts are protecting; and move toward healing, living, and leading from your truest Self.

This course includes: weekly Zoom gatherings with all participants for discussion and sharing, and one spiritual direction or IFS session with Tracy DePue.  The book should be purchased and in hand prior to our first gathering.

Enneagram Book Study: “Self to Lose, Self to Find: Using the Enneagram to Uncover Your True, God-Gifted Self”

Dates: Thursdays: Jan. 14, 21, 28, Feb. 4, 11 & 18 - Time: 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. (CST)

Location: Online via Zoom

Cost: $95

Course Description:

Knowing your Enneagram type is a great tool on the path to knowing yourself.  Unfortunately, many discover their number and settle into using it as a way to explain why they are motivated to behave a certain way in life. Often individuals become stuck without a way to move beyond identifying as their type. Sound familiar?

In her book “Self to Lose, Self to Find: Using the Enneagram to Uncover Your True, God-Gifted Self” Marilyn Vancil offers a path for transformation.  What sets this book apart is it comes from “a seasoned Enneagram expert and a spiritual director: within a scriptural context, she demonstrates how the Enneagram can be a vehicle for transformation by laying out the realities of each Enneagram type, affirming the inherent genius of each type, showcasing the unhealthy tendencies of each type’s false self, and illuminating the path to freedom for each one.”

For our 6-session study, Vancil’s book will be our guide as we discover, in more depth, who God created us to be as we seek to live more fully from the inside out.

The course includes: a daily prayer and study guide, weekly Zoom gatherings with all participants for group discussion and sharing, and one spiritual direction session with Tracy DePue.

This study is designed for individuals who are new or experienced with the Enneagram. Knowing your Enneagram type is not a prerequisite to participation.

InsideOut Spiritual Living SoulWork Series: "Self-Care: a Pathway to Connection"

“Self-Care: a Pathway to Connection”

Dates: Mondays: Jan. 11, 18, 25 and Feb. 1 & 8 - Time: 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. (CST)

Location: Online via Zoom

Cost: $135

Course Description:

Self-care is not selfish.  Self-care is essential to the nurturing of your soul.  Nourishing the soul from the inside out is a powerful way to reconnect with your true self and how you were created to live, and move, and have your being in this world.  When you invest in the inner workings of your soul through self-care practices, it is reflected in how you connect with God, yourself, others, and creation. Those connections matter. You matter.

If you’ve been thinking about your own self-care for awhile, but haven’t made much progress, perhaps you need the encouragement and support of a compassionate and caring community and guide.

In this 5-session retreat, you will discover four key steps to intentional self-care, what your unique and specific areas of self-care are, how to nurture them, and how to create space for them.

The course includes: a daily prayer guide to engage you in conversation with God about self-care, weekly Zoom gatherings with all participants for learning and sharing, and two private spiritual direction sessions with Tracy DePue.

Dinner & Storytelling

Theme: Stories about Making Changes (past, present, or future)
Location: Maumelle, AR (address given upon registration)
Limited to 7 Participants
Registration Dates: Oct. 1-19 | $25

What is one of the biggest changes you’ve ever made? How has it shaped your life? Is something changing in you (or your circumstances) right now that you’re trying to understand or find space to give it room to grow? Perhaps there is a change you need to make and telling the backstory of why might open you up to fulfilling that dream or goal. If so, Dinner & Storytelling is about being in community, sharing a meal, and sharing our stories in a safe and compassionate environment.

Each storyteller will share their story based on the theme.  We spend time discussing how to be active and intentional listeners before the storytelling portion begins and we finish with a brief time of reflection. There is tremendous value in holding space for others; thus, the listener is a valued participant and welcome at the table.

Soundtrack for Life

Registration: FREE - All are welcome!
Location: Argenta UMC, North Little Rock, AR
Limited to 6 Sharers - Audience Unlimited - Registration is for those who want to share a story and a song.

Is there a song that feels like the perfect soundtrack for a particular moment or experience in your life? What song accompanies a part of your story? These are the songs that comprise the soundtrack of our lives. At this Soundtrack for Life Gathering, there is no set theme. If you’ve got a story and a song to share, please click the registration button below and fill out the form. We are limited to 6 sharers.

Throughout our lives, we collect songs - songs that soothe, heal, inspire, encourage.  Just like in a movie, those collected songs become a soundtrack for our lives. They punctuate the chapters of our life.  They lift us up when we’re discouraged, get us through difficult moments, and help us celebrate the amazing moments along our journey.

When you attend a Soundtrack for Life Gathering, you come as a storyteller or a listener.  The storytellers will share their story about a particular song and how it has impacted them in a particular moment or for a season and then we’ll play the song for everyone to hear.  The listeners will bear witness to the significance of how the song and story are intertwined.
